So since my last post i moved out of Indiana. Not for me. And i have decided that a sells job was for the birds and people who think their righteous but are spun out on adderall.
I text my mom and siblings to tell them the good news of me deciding that i was going to go to collage to get a M.S. in mechanical engineering. I started enrolling in school and getting my financing worked out when i had a job opportunity in Alaska. yes i said Alaska. A company up in Nome caught wind of my fabrication skills and gave me a call for a phone interview. Well since im so skilled (and have a good reference at this company) I got the job. so within the next week and a half some time i will be going on a 2 to 3 maybe 4 month journey to the real wild west, or whats left of it.
This company has hired me to come build one maybe 2 custom gold dredging barges. Like the one you can see on discovery's Bering Sea Gold, the tv show. But better. And i will be the sole fabricator on this job with the help of one mechanic. I asked to be paid in gold but then we settled on a healthy hourly wage. For this i put off school for a semester to get some monies under my belt so i can dedicate more time to school and dont have to be so broke. (Mom assured me this was a good idea) and might have the opportunity to work for them every summer in good old Nome, Alaska.
The bad.... going from 95 degrees to 50 degrees and its going to just get colder..... Honestly I don't think it could be any worse that Ft Drum NY. the army unit from Alaska would do there cold mountain training up in NY. lived there done that. Oh and i will be trying to bring my skateboard so i can say i skated Alaska, state #40 or so that i have skated.. and thats whats going on here.
