Do you like BOOTY?

We have a new favorite family activity. We treasure hunt! We get coordinates from www.geocaching.com and use our portable GPS to find hidden treasures. There are many cashe sights that are in neighborhoods and others that are on long hikes. Sometimes when you get to your coordinates there will only be a piece of paper with more coordinates and you have to hunt for the final treasure. The rule is if you take a prize you also must leave one. Sometimes you will find special coins with id numbers where you can go on line and track all of the places that specific coin has traveled. Regardless of the booty you get to sign your name and write a message in the log books located at each cashe sight. Some of them are easy to find while others are very difficult. Some are the size of a large shoe box while others as tiny as a film canaster. So far we have found about 15 out of the 20 we have searched for... and counting. We will continue to blog about our adventures geocashing and will add some pictures hopefully this weekend.
